One of the key goals of the project “Implementation of the European Adult Leaning Agenda in North Macedonia”, is to promote the European dimension of Adult Education and to enable transfer of knowledge and know-how.
On June 24th 2025, the Adult Education Centre organized the conference “Pact for Skills: Alliance for Future Competences” in order to promote the Pact for skills as one of the EU flagship initiatives. It served as a platform to introduce the national key actors, stakeholders and social partners such as adult education providers, Regional VET Centres, Government institutions, Chambers as well as private organizations and companies engaged in reskilling and upskilling activities, to the tools and resources available through this EU initiative.
Maja Avramovska, the EU skills development expert, gave a detailed presentation of the Pact for Skills, which provided comprehensive information about the initiative, including its’ goals, resources, programs, and expected outcomes.
The conference also engaged the attention of the participants with an interesting and dynamic panel discussion, facilitated by Maja Avramovska. with two guests: Natasa Janevska from the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia and Maja Kolekeska from the private adult education provider C.E.S. Academy. The discussion aimed to present the current state of play of labour market demands and skills supply, challenges related to shortage of skilled labour force and the experiences of participation of C.E.S. Academy in the Pact for skills.
The conference included an interactive group activity structured as a World Café, in the frames of which participants discussed questions related to the Pact’s four key principles and developed ideas for creation of synergies for active participation in the Pact for skills by national relevant actors.
This conference was an excellent opportunity for awareness raising of the national actors in Adult Education/Labour and Employment about the Pact for skills as an initiative, exchange of ideas and designing solutions for joint action.
